The main components of the service are Regional Centres for Manufacturing Excellence set up to provide hands on advice and assistance covering a wide range of issues about technology and manufacturing best practice faced by SME manufacturers. A national network of Centres of Expertise in Manufacturing supporting the regional service supplied by RCMEs. The RCME can provide up to 3 days free consultancy, which can address any issue relevant to productivity. This service can also incorporate access to a quick query answering service and a free diagnostic service on any specific technical problem.
